It is unfortunate to see that the National Broadcasting Company has not let up in its crusade to destroy the Second Amendment- this week they trumpeted a false story claiming that the NRA would not oppose expanded Gun Registration
Background Check legislation currently proposed in the Senate. In fact the NRA responded to this shameful distortion of the truth with:
NBC! I used to think you were bad- even by the standards of the Mainstream Propaganda Machine ( Ever hear of the Journo-List ???) . Here are a few examples why I can no longer support you in any way. Sorry Sunday Night Football- you were the last bastion of my viewership. What could make me so disgusted with NBC to even give up NFL Games off the Week? The mainstream media have been sensationalistic for many years but their role in the latest incarnation of the Gun Control debate has gone too far. NBC has been excessive and their latest lies about (Universal Background Checks) Gun Registration is the point where I cannot tolerate any more. Consider the following examples in addition to the outright lies about Gun Control initiatives in Congress:
- No stranger to selectively edited video clips, MSNBC aired a misleading and incomplete clip of testimony given by the father of a Sandy Hook victim at a hearing before the Connecticut Legislature. The edits make it appear as if pro-gun advocates maliciously interrupted (or “heckled” as many have said) the dad for no reason as he calmly argued against civilians owning semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines. MSNBC also won’t admit that they made a mistake
- MSNBC works hard at one-sided portrayals of the Gun Debate on a regular basis
- Bob Costas could not help but preach to NFL fans when discussing the recent and tragic murder-suicide committed by an NFL “If Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins (the girlfriend he killed) would both be alive today.” Are these Facts or Feelings Bob? Last time I checked there was no shortage of cases of NFL players committing acts of domestic violence. Belcher decided to kill the mother of his child- he could have done it with a knife, with his bare hands or even a 2×4. Of course you wouldn’t want to shine a light on a real problem affecting the NFL sport-entertainment complex ( 4.7 out of every 1000 NFL players committed acts of sexual and criminal assault in 2010 ), would you?
